On 20. july 2022, there was 6. City fashion show in Novo mesto. Founder Ana Jelinič (Studio Ana) invited me to present my new collection. This collection is a sequel of NIKATO MOVE collection, where I started to work on more active and every day fashion.
I designed it in a memory of my mom and her happy place - Pokljuka, where she could breathe pure mountain and forest air. That is why I named this collection 'just BREATHE'.

... (City fashion show) is part of Novo mesto from 2017. Founder Ana Jelinič (Studio Ana) invited me to be a part of 5. edition where I presented white shirt dress for charity fashion show called BE AWARE. 

For a few years I haven't posted any new clothing collections and it looked like NIKATO was standing still. I was mainly devoted to being a mom, however I still managed to be creative. Being home with the kids, while moving a lot, made me think a lot about how to make every apartment feel like home. Home textiles are something we use on daily basis. So why not make it special?

I started working on unique cushion designes. First I made some for our home, for the kids, for gifts... and it felt great being creative in a new field. It made me miss fashion a bit less for the time being, but I was working with textile and learning a lot about embroidery, so I wasn't too worried. I knew I will be back with designing clothes someday and I had fun working on home decor as well.

I made quite a lot of cushion collections and also personalised pillows since then, but I never saw that as a part of this website which was all about couture. However NIKATO has changed so much from the begining and home decor is now definitely a permanent part of it.

So I want you to say 'Hello' to NIKATO decor.

​Why MOVE? This word has several meanings for me personally. We MOVE when we go live somewhere else, we make a MOVE when we take a chance on something/someone, we can MOVE with physical activity or we MOVE forward in our lives with mental activity. I wanted to capture all this in this new collection, which for me means the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
I have moved a lot in past years and although every move means a physical change in locations, I had the feeling I was standing still, as I was mainly devoted to family life. However our last move brought some changes, so I pushed myself in to new beginnings, I decided it was about time to make a new move, or better yet - to make a fresh start in my creativity. I also fulfilled my long-held wish - I started dancing again. So you see, my story is full of changes, movement, shifts in personal and business area. And I packed it all into the word ‘MOVE’.

NIKATO was originally a fashion brand dedicated to warriors, elegance, special occasions. I still feel endless inspiration in warriors, only that they have somehow moved from the fantasy and medieval type to the more modern women - the ones that face the daily struggles of our time. NIKATO MOVE wants to offer comfort, the possibility of movement, as well as a perfect style in which every woman will feel special and unique.

So much for now ...

...was inspired by Greece. It was in Athens where I found a beautiful blue and white fabric pattern. I also started learning to work with embroidery designes, which were inspired by olive leaves. You can see all of the outfits in COLLECTIONS.

...I would like to share with you some pictures from non-official photoshooting for NIKATO AW 14-15 collection I just found while browsing through files. I am no model and my husband is not a photographer, but at the time I needed some photos for my portfolio ASAP, so we rushed into the mountains and made some. This was the result:

...since my last post. I admit - I enjoy being a mum so much, although I miss my alone time for drawing, sewing and for just being lost in inspiration and art.

My next collection is coming very soon. But before this happens I would really like to show you some more photos from the previous one, so you can see all the transformations which is always my favourite thing in my designs.
